From the thin, long-billed Mallard of early days to the plump Duck we know today, Donald has been entertaining audiences for over 70 years. The Walt Disney Classics Collection has released this figurine, Donald Then and Now to celebrate one of Walt Disney’s most popular characters. To date this Donald figurine has to be one of my all time favorites from the WDCC, the fine detail in its porcelain and pewter craft and color transfer from black and white is simply beautiful. Available now from the Disney Store, Donald will run you for $199US and he comes with a certificate of authenticity.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Star Wars Trilogy Disney-MGM Studios in Florida will be giving fans the chance to purchase a little piece of history this summer. Disney has merged 4 legendary characters with Star Wars lore to produce instant classics. Last years figure was the Jedi Mickey which sold out in hours and now this year we have an X-Wing Fighter Pilot Mickey, Princess Minnie, Stormtrooper Donald, and Darth Goofy. Each character will be numbered from an edition size of just 600 each, complete with certificate of authenticity and cost $175US. The price tag may sound steep but these are extremely limited edition collector figures and can only be purchased during the event; also, these figures are actually quite large ranging in size between 17 and 23inches. The Walt Disney Collectors Society has a new feature on the Disney Shopping website in the form of the Scuttle Muddled Mentor Walt Disney Collectors Society Members-Only Figurine. As is usual with WDCC items this figurine is made from finely crafted porcelain. The memorable gull Scuttle will be a nice addition to any classics collection especially along side Ariel, the 2006 Membership Gift Sculpture. Scuttle is available to 2006 Collectors Society members for only $40US.
